Procedure
- 01
Raise alarm
Use the site alarm method and contact emergency services as directed by the local emergency plan.
- 02
Stop work
Make equipment safe only if trained and it does not delay escape; leave belongings.
- 03
Leave by safe route
Use the nearest safe marked route; avoid smoke and do not use lifts unless the site plan specifically provides for them.
- 04
Assist within training
Follow the plan for visitors and people who need assistance; do not re-enter for someone missing.
- 05
Account for people
Report at the assembly point and provide missing-person information to the coordinator/responders.
- 06
Wait for clearance
Re-enter only after the authorised all-clear and incident control release.
03 / exception control
Stop and escalate when
- Never enter smoke or fight a fire without training and a site-approved role.
- Blocked route: use the alternate route in the site plan.
- Missing person: inform emergency responders; do not self-rescue.
